Sail360 Go: Professional Maritime Instrumentation Manual
Welcome to the Sail360 Go skipper’s guide. This document details the operation, tactical systems, and technical calibration of your professional sailing instrument suite.
1. The Main Dashboard (The Helm)
The Sail360 interface is optimized for high visibility and tactical decision-making on the water.
Primary Instruments — The Tactical Compass Rose is a 360-degree rotating rose with high-contrast markings. The Green Diamond shows Course Over Ground to help you understand leeway and current drift. The Yellow Chevron shows wind direction relative to your heading, and the Cyan Chevron indicates Heading Lock or a Ghost Mark for homing. Live Metrics show SOG in knots and VMG to help optimize tacking angles.
Tactical Sensor Bar — WIND shows wind direction and speed in knots; tap it to engage Tactical Wind Lock when using a fixed wind reference. BARO shows atmospheric pressure and trend; tap for the Aneroid Barometer. TEMP opens marine weather details. HEEL reports live vessel roll in degrees with PORT or STBD indicators.
2. Advanced Maritime Instruments
Old-Fashioned Aneroid Barometer — Access this view by cycling through instrument modes. The high-fidelity gauge echoes classic brass cabin barometers with STORMY, RAIN, CHANGE, FAIR, and VERY DRY labels. Its precise needle responds to your phone’s pressure sensor to help anticipate local weather shifts; the gauge is side-mounted with compensated labels for clarity.
Heel & Trim Gauge — See exactly how many degrees your vessel is heeling: right is Starboard (STBD), left is Port. Tap the Heel stat on the dashboard to zero the gauge while the boat is level at the dock.
3. Marine Charts & Navigation
Global Nautical Layers — Tap CHART on the map screen to toggle professional overlays: NOAA ENC online charts for U.S. waters, Statkart high-resolution sounding charts for Norwegian fjords and coasts, and OpenSeaMap seamarks and navigation aids worldwide.
Landscape Map & Recenter — Turn your device sideways for a full-screen chart. If you pan away from your boat, a cyan RECENTER button appears; tap it to return to your position and re-engage auto-follow.
4. Mission History & Photo Log
“Black Box” Replay — Every sail is recorded with 1Hz telemetry. Scrub through a mission to inspect SOG, VMG, and Heel at any moment, and review the barometric profile of your voyage to track pressure changes during long hauls.
Automated Photolog — Photos from your sail are automatically mapped. Tap any photo in the mission summary to jump the replay directly to that location and time.
5. Administrative Controls & Support
Direct Share Exports — Go to Settings > Export GPX to open the Android Share Menu. Send voyage tracks directly to OneDrive, your sailing club’s Slack, email, or another available app.
Technical Support & Privacy — Use “View Privacy Policy” in Settings to review data standards at https://360aktiv.com/privacy. Tap the feedback link in Settings to email the engineering team at feedback@360aktiv.com.
Maritime Safety — This application is a supplementary navigation aid. Do not rely on it as your primary source of navigation. Always maintain a proper lookout and carry official paper charts or a certified ECDIS system. Use of this application is at your own risk.
