Hike360 Go: Professional Wilderness Instrumentation Manual
Welcome to the Hike360 Go hiker’s guide. This document details the operation, safety systems, and technical calibration of your professional trail instrument suite.
1. The Main Dashboard (The Trailhead)
The Hike360 interface is optimized for rugged environments, featuring high-contrast text and a focus on essential safety metrics.
Primary Instruments — The Tactical Compass Rose is a 360-degree rotating rose. The Green Diamond shows Course Over Ground; the Cyan Chevron marks your Homing point and directs you to your start location; the Yellow Chevron shows wind direction. Live Metrics provide real-time speed in MPH or KM/H, with MSL-calibrated altitude and a grade indicator.
Trail Sensor Bar — WEATHER shows local conditions and temperature; tap for full details. BARO reports live pressure and its rising or falling trend. GPS ACC shows horizontal accuracy, with sub-five-meter readings labeled “Excellent.” STEPS tracks your count for the current mission.
2. Navigation & Backtracking
Back-to-Start (Homing) — When you tap START HIKE, the app marks your starting location. Line to Start shows your straight-line distance to the trailhead, while the compass displays a cyan chevron that points you home.
Distance to Trail (Backtracking) — Hike360 monitors your breadcrumb path. The DIST TO TRAIL metric tells you how far you have strayed from your recorded route, helping you retrace your path if trail markers disappear.
3. Active Safety Systems
SOS Sentinel — For emergencies, press and hold the SOS SENTINEL bar at the bottom of the screen for two seconds. Once activated, the app broadcasts your precise GPS coordinates by SMS to pre-configured contacts, starts a high-decibel audible siren, and flashes the screen high-intensity red. Tap STOP SOS to deactivate.
4. Mission History & GPX Export
Track Recording — Every hike records precise latitude, longitude, and elevation data. When you stop a mission, the Interactive Summary immediately shows elevation gain and loss alongside total distance.
Professional Export — Go to Settings > Export GPX to open the Android Share Menu and send your trail data directly to Strava, Gaia GPS, email, or another available app.
